What is Qute?
Qute is the new mobile companion of Qi, which completely integrates with Qi and allows collections managers to register object movements directly from their iOS (iPhone, iPod or iPad) or Android devices.
Using the software, you can create barcodes and print them on any type of label directly from within Qi. But, as not all objects will have room for a barcode sticker, the Qute app allows you to either scan one, or enter an accession number to securely look up essential object information and find out the current location of any object within your collection.
Game changing
Qute's mobility and synchronicity with Qi dramatically speeds up movement control, meaning you will simply need to walk around your collection with your device and create movement records as you go.
You can select a new location from your location authority (queried in real time) directly onto your device and immediately save a draft movement record to Qi, which can then be reviewed, enhanced and approved once back at your desk.
Given the app is fully integrated with Qi, you will also be able to carry out a range of tasks, including:
- Object movements - check in and check out: quickly scan objects in and out and even attach images documenting their conditions
- Verification and auditing - check that an object is really where it is supposed to be
- Condition checking - report on an object, including images and notes
- Conservation activities - document each step of a conservation procedure, as it happens
